Do I pay a fee on the capital invested in my ideas?

No, there are no fees on capital received in part or in total.

How do I contact other members once I have subscribed?

Every listing on the site has a "View use profile" link at the bottom. Once you’re subscribed and logged in this will become a link allowing you to contact each member via the contact tab on the top of their profile.  There will also be a form available to you at the bottom of each listing which can also be used to e-mail these users. 

Is there any limit to how many members can be contacted?

There is no limit on messages sent to members, though abuse of the service may result in a user account being suspended or banned.This is to ensure users only receive genuine interest and to eliminate any proliferation of spam messages.  If you're looking to inform other users that they can become wealthy by undertaking self directed "work at home" and all they need is a computer; The site admin will no doubt receive a complaint and you're going to get yourself banned due to being a vulture, a liar, a thief, a pest, or all of the above. Ditto for pyramid or MLM schemes (some legitimate MLM models are ok, if you're unsure contact us beforehand).

How do I list my business plan on this site?

After subscribing, you can click the “Create Listing” link in the menu on the right. You can then select a business or investor listing.The following page will allow you to fill out your particulars and assign your posting to a relevant category.You may also attach a file to your listings such as a PDF or word document, a powerpoint presentation or a video. The file size limit is 10 megabytes.

What if there is no category for my listing?

Let us know and we’ll add a suitable category for you right away.

Are you associated with any other "Australian" sites?

Absolutely not. FindAngelInvestors.com.au is not operated in common or in conjunction with any other sites.  Some opportunist spammers have been setting up look-alike sites to collect e-mail addresses, charge extra unrequested products or services to credit cards and undertake various other undesirable activities with which the adminstrators of this site do not condone or support in any way. 

These sites are generally operated from overseas and usually have stupid domain names subsituting "numbers 4 letters" and advertise via google adwords. Avoid anything advertising via a paid link which is not otherwise accessible through normal search engine results. Claims of summed available capital figures on the front pages of sites are absolutely bogus and unverifiable 99.9% of the time.

It's been necessary to address this issue in some detail as a number of subscribers of FindAngelInvestors.com.au have relayed horror stories regarding their experiences with this kind of bogus crap.

Which payment methods do you accept?
We use PayPal as a payment processing gateway which means you can use major credit cards as well as direct debit from a bank account and your existing PayPal balance.  PayPal is one of the most trusted and secure payment gateways in existence and the most widely used online.  We pay higher fees than we otherwise would to use PayPal but consider it a small price to pay for the confidence of this site's users.  Your credit card or bank details will never be shown to us by PayPal.  The subscriptions and charges are handled entirely by PayPal and not us.

How easy is it to cancel my subscription?
Very easy. You can do so via links on your My Account page or by logging into your PayPal account.  You're able to cancel your subscription at any time and you will never be rebilled.

What other benefits are there to subscribing?
In addition to being able to create a listing and/or contact users depending on your subscription, you also have access to download hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of e-books, articles, logo, website and presentation templates.  Most of which are not available elsewhere at no cost. This content is expanded regularly and is offered to assist you in achieving your business development goals. It also serves the dual purpose in ensuring that when you subscribe you'll definately receive some benefit to being a member of the site even if you are not contacted by a suitable investor or entrepreneur due to lack of interest. It is available to all subscribers even at the lowest subscription level.  You're also welcome to contact us with suggestions about what sort of content you'd like to see and we'll endeavour to acquire it royalty free.

Do you offer other consulting services relevant to developing my business?
Yes, we have access to MBA, bachelor or otherwise educated individuals who can help in writing general business and marketing plans, assist with corporate governance issues and develop websites, information systems and graphic art such as logos.  If you require such services you're welcome to contact us to discuss further options.  We can also refer you to appropriate firms for legal advice if needed.

Can I create a listing if my need/offerings are not strictly financial; such as skills, expertise or knowledge?
Absolutely, intellectual capital is capital nonetheless. We only ask that your offering or request is relevant to personal input in starting new or enhancing existing enterprise and not merely selling products, services, books or access to such things.  There is a distinction between "I need input from an electrical engineer" and a Job advertisement offering or requesting a full-time position for one. There are websites better suited to Job ads than this site which is more suited to creating business relationships and networking for mutual benefit as opposed to advertising employment vacancies.  Think of it more as offering a role in a project than a contract of employment.

Can I create a listing if I am outside Australia?
Yes, you're more than welcome to do so as long as your offering pertains directly to operating a business within Australia, or significant input is required from parties located here. It is advisable that you state in your listing if its origin is outside Australia.

If I list on the site will I find investors for my project?
We hope so. Nothing can be guaranteed though and we're always looking for ways to make this more likely.

How is My Offering Promoted by the Site?
In addition to being displayed prominently to site visitors, listings are also propogated through numerous syndication and news networks as well as gaining excellent exposure to search engines such as Google.  Those who receive the RSS feed and registered users of the site who have opted to do so, will also be notified when your new content is posted, at any given time there are more than a thousand registered users.  We are unable to guage how many times your listing will be viewed via syndication, but it is a lot.  The site administrators are aware of ALL listings made and will recommend appropriate ones be investigated by interested parties who enquire directly.

Can I gain access to the mailing list of registered users for advertisement?
Generally NO, the privacy and sanctity or our users' beloved inboxes are important to us, but if you have an offering that is of genuine benefit and relevant to the purpose of this site you can contact us.  The interests of our membership are our primary concern, so ask yourself whether that is congruent with what you're trying to do before you contact us.  We won't do a "PARTNER MESSAGE:" and pass on your content. If we think it is of benefit we will notify our users ourselves of what you're offering and as such take responsibility for doing so. We're well aware that sending too many e-mails will make the recipients stop reading them.

What if I have a complaint?
Let us know so we can make improvements or address a problem. But don't be a jerk about it, as that's never a good way to get what you want from somebody.

Will my listings be Moderated or Edited?
Offensive or profane content won't do you or the other users of the site any good so it will be edited or removed.  Admin may also offer to make changes to a listing if it is detrimental to its success or generally lowers the perceivable quality of the site. We'll let you know if we wish to do this and always remember that we'll offer to do this to help you get what you want from your listing, not to patronise or insult you. If english is your second language, you're welcome to email your listing to us beforehand so we can help make it sell your proposition better.

Can a Non-Profit, Political or Religious organisation make a listing?
We don't want to discourage private investment which arguments for large charitable donations can do. But we do like good karma and, personally, fully support noble ambitions.  Contact us to arrange a link somewhere on the site accessible to visitors instead, and be mindful that charitable entities can be competing with businesses for limited resources.  There's a time and a place for everything and this place here is primarily for investment activity, which does provide for charity if such ventures are successful. Tough call, but we have to make it.

In registering on and utilising the site, you agree to abide by the following terms, and any others, reasonably implied with the aim of operating this site in a relatively safe, sustainable and productive manner as we see it.

• We cannot guarantee any measure of success in using this site as we have no control over what other users or site visitors are or are not interested in. We're trying to help, if it doesn't work out for you then so be it.
• You may receive occasional e-mails from this site informing you of news relevant to this site or a promotional offer, in addition  to the latest listings posted by other users (We generally will not send more than one e-mail per week, if at all, unless it is in regards to an urgent administrative issue).  You may opt out of receiving any further communication from the site, by following the link or instruction on the message footer. Failing that, simply send a brief message to admin via the Contact Us form and we will endeavour to solve your problem.
• If you've subscribed, and your account has messaging functionality, you may receive brief reminder notifications when you are sent a message by another user. Administrators of the site will not send you messages via the private messaging system. Communication from admin will be e-mailed to you directly so you can assume that a notification of a private message should be a message sent by a fellow user.  If it has previously been activated on your account, you can choose to disable private messaging on the My Account page.
• You will not "spam", that is, send unwanted, irrelevant or counterproductive messages of a promotional or other nature to us or our users. Sending identical messages to a number of users is likely to alert admin, and if the content is deemed inappropriate or not relevant to the core purpose of the site as we see it, or we receive complaints from other users, you will be banned from the site, any ongoing subscription will be cancelled and the offending messages will be deleted.
• FindAngelInvestors.com.au reserves the right, for lack of a better term, to ban, suspend, cancel, berate or publicly humiliate you, your cohorts, your mother or your dog,  if your conduct is inappropriate, or if we think you're a jerk and we just don't like you.
• We may, and probably will alter these terms at times.
